Oahu

Nothing is better than the warm sun, breathe taking views, and high quality H2O. Hawaii has all of that and more! There are so many view points to see this magical land. However, my suggestion is to go out there and explore little secrets this place has to offer.

For views:

LANIKAI

You NEED to get to Lanikai. Northwest of Waikiki you will find a nice quiet beach. Lanikai. There you will find soft white sand and clear blue waters. The only thing missing are the tourist. A hidden spot makes this the ideal place if you want a soft quiet day. Nothing to bother you except the gentle sounds of the water hugging the sand. Yeah, its like that.

Views? They got plenty!

Around Lanikai there is a super short but steep hike, Pill Box. You will need to park a few blocks away from the entrance as it is in a residential area (PLEASE respect the people who live there, we are guests and should behave as such). Nestled in the neighborhood, there are plenty of signs of how to get to the trail head. Please keep a look out for the ropes on the edges at the start, they are there to help you get up the steep hills. My first time it was raining and I was testing out some Columbia Hiking Sandals. I was still able to do it with some cautious steps. The sandals had rugged groves that you would normally find on hiking boots, not sandals. I LOVE THEM! They float while keeping me grounded on small hikes. I highly recommend them! The hike takes about 30 mins to get to the top. From there you will see all of Lanikai and a small island to the west. If you get there early, you will see THE MOST BEAUTIFUL sunrise on Oahu. Just imagine the faded orange glow peaking from the soft blue water. Each small breathe you take, the sun rises just a little bit more. Like a visual form of meditation, the sun will be in full bloom by the time you get back from your thoughts. Seriously, its the Bees-Freaking-Kness. I wish I could bottle it up and drink it.

Hungry from the hike?

Lanikai offers delicious foods!

  • Boots & Kimo's Homestyle Kitchen: https://goo.gl/maps/q9ngsHvJ6it

    • Cash Only

    • Highly recommend the MACADAMIA NUT SAUCE ON ONOLICIOUS PANCAKES. What makes it great is the Macadamia nut sauce, it is very sweet and has a creamy consistency. Sprinkled on top are bits of macadamia, in case you didn’t get enough of it!

    • Something to try is the ONOLICIOUS FRIED RICE OMELETTE

      • stir me up some of that good good fried rice!

  • Island Snow Hawaii: https://goo.gl/maps/WYYXP1vSjer

    • If you are in the need to cool down, go to Island snow! Just a short walk from Kailua Beach Park. Right next to it there is a place you can rent kayaks, paddle boards, and other water floaties!

    • No lie, its not the very best but its great for the area!
